Metamorphoses represents a vision of the dystopian changes in a country.

It is a reinterpreted version of the practical component carried out to obtain a practical-theoretical Master’s degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon – FBAUL.

In this reprint of the original practical component, we sought to employ metamorphosis differently from what is usual – as a quality of visual effect or as a linking element between scenes. I use it both as the most important constituent process of Animation, and as a plastic resource, but also as the main driving element of the story. In view of the steps developed in the theoretical component, it was possible to develop a differentiated approach, where metamorphosis and its transformations represent processes and narrate history. For the narrative development of the practical component, the History of Brazil was chosen as the theme, in combination with the philosophical concepts of utopia and dystopia.
